Hello,
I received a C- in my Statistics class a while back.
Do any schools have requirements that all science classes be completed with C or better?
Do I need to retake? It will be very hard to fit this into my schedule and If I do need to retake, Is it ok for me to retake at a community college?

Thanks.

I'd retake if I were you. A C- looks bad because Statistics counts as a mathematics course. If you can, take upper level math courses or other math course to make up for it. Why were you taking Statistics to begin with? You want to avoid getting any Cs

Check the pre-reqs of all the schools you are interested in. Some schools have no math requirements and others can allow another math class like Pre-Calc or Calc to replace the stats course. If nothing else works out you will need to retake it.

But again this all depends on the schools you want to apply to. If you're not sure you can always leave this course until the last year or semester, apply to the schools you want, and then if you get accepted into a school that needs it you can just take it then. There's no rush to take it now.

It was a requirement for me at my school to complete math classes asap. but i scored high on my SATs so i didnt need any math. stats was the highest math class required for my major. I took it my first quarter of college and I had a lot of really bad things and issues going on in my life during that period of time. my science gpa is 3.8+ with this damn stats class bringing everything down.

I really dont want to re-take. I mean, anybody can do good a second time around. I feel like its pointless.

Are they really gonna reject me because of their "C or better" requirement? I have already proved myself as a math whiz (already aced harder math classes: trig, phys, etc.), it was honestly just a bad time in my life.

You have to call each schools you're interested in and find out. They wont reject you but they'll probably tell you to retake the class. Schools have requirements and dont care about a 3.99 gpa if that C or better requirement is in effect.

The best method is to call them and find out for yourself, each school has a different policy.

Ok , thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. I'm just gonna call the schools. I'd rather just take it now anyways and have a higher sGPA when applying
