What would be a good book or pocket book for a newbie to read in the OR? I know that for certain cases, there should not be any reading. I am looking for something while waiting for surgeons, waiting for patients to come up to the pacu, long stable cases, etc. Any suggestions?

Mass Gen book is what you need for the OR.

Really Easy to read and great for CA-1 year while reading in the OR.

Make a copy of the sections you want to read that day and then you won't be subject to your attending's disapproval with a fat open book during a case... (Not that your attendings ever shows up for the cases anyway.)
