Hi everyone, just a few Q's about the CA pharmacist application:

1.) it says you need 1,500 intern hours that need to be signed by a pharmacist or PIC, and they do NOT accept a college transcript....I have 780 from working at CVS, but does that mean I'd need to go to each of my rotation site preceptors to have them sign my hours?

(a search says that ANY pharmacist can sign it...it can either be the state board of pharmacy, or your school?)

2.) Although I'm done with all my rotations, I was out-of-sequence and won't technically be "graduating" and receiving my completed transcript until September 15th. Does that mean I can't send in my application until after that?

3.) I don't know what makes someone "authorized to test"...I want to sit for the NAPLEX as SOON as I am eligible based on my late graduation date; can I start registering with NABP/mail in my CA RPh application before my graduation date?

i don't know about 2) or 3)...but i do know that p4's at my schhol who wanted to practice in CA had to go back and get their preceptors to sign off on their intern hours via the separate form on the CA BoP website.

Yup, this is a new form as of 2/2011 i think, your preceptors at each individual site will sign off on hours now.

The form also says "supervising pharmacist or pharmacist in charge." nowhere do i see ANY pharmacist can sign it.

"supervising" sounds like it can be bent such that it can be the pharmacist that directly worked with you (your preceptor) who may not necessarily be the PIC of the place.

Don't forget to make sure they classify your hours as IN a pharmacy or experience RELATED to pharmacy (max 600).

Random fact: this was a GREAT move for us out-of-state kids, no need to harass our local BOP to submit hours to CA BOP (also opens up california to students who graduate in states that don't track intern hours at the state level).
