FAQs
Will Assembly Bill 1467 extend the RT Exam?
The Dental Board members and staff worked vigorously to get this bill passed
through both houses (the Senate and the Assembly). All Assembly Bills such as
the RT exam bill requiring 2/3-majority vote is on hold until the Legislature
reconvenes in January 2004. Therefore, although it may be re-authorized, the
RT exam legislation sunsets at the end of this year.
What will happen to the applications for the RT exam that are currently at
the Dental Board of California?
The RT applications along with a refund will be returned to the candidates. The
refund process normally takes from 6 to 8 weeks. The Board anticipates
returning the applications and refunds by November 2003.
What can I do now?
You can:
contact your legislators and express your support for the bill.
look for updates to the bill on the website www.leginfo.ca.gov.
consider applying for a two-year international program at one of the five
Dental Schools
wait for the results of the legislative vote next year
Please continue to check the Board~{!/~}s website for updates to the RT exam.
