Hi all,
It was mentioned to me that cal/ucla weed apps out by numbers--if you aren't above x percentile/y gpa, you are out. Does anyone know if this is true? I was under the impression they took a holistic look at one's app...thanks.

i don't think it's true at all. my stats were way below the averages for cal and UCLA (speaking for the epi program) and I still got into both places. apart from looking at stats, you should also look at their reputations and departments as well. cal has a very small public health school so think about how the resources could be potentially very low. i went straight from undergrad so these were all things i learned during my admit day trips, but yea, just something to keep in mind.
