Hi, so I'm having a hard time deciding what undergrad to go to as a pre-med student. If anyone has attended Cal Poly SLO as a pre-med student please reach out. I've listed the pros and cons that I see as of right now for each school.

I understand that for any medical student it is essential to have a good GPA, MCAT, and clinical experience.

CPSLO: major-Public Health
Pros
- PH is a fairly new major so the department seems very close knit
- class sizes are smaller so it's probably easier to get to know your professors
- it might be easier to get a better gpa just because there are a lot less pre-meds
Cons
- pre-med scene isn't big
- no medical school attached
- not sure about how much clinical experience you can get

UC Davis: major-Biology
Pros
- Davis is well-known for biology and pre-med in general
- a good amount of student run clinics
- lots of research opportunities
- big pre-med scene
Cons
- really big class sizes so not sure about access to professors
- don't know how much i can stand out as an applicant because of the sheer amount of pre-med students
- classes can be very challenging since there are so many students (i am a hard worker and I definitely think I could succeed but I want to make sure that I don't have a hard time to the point that I don't enjoy my college experience)
