So I ended up with a B+ in Calc II. This was my fault as I went thru the first breakup in my life and in general a depressing semester. So I want to take Calc 3 to make up for it, and I enjoy math. I also will be taking Calc 3 in conjunction with PHysics I (calc-BASED) at same time. is it good idea??

I suspect Physics II (calc-based), requires vector calculus, so if you want to take that sequence further you are going to need multi-variable (Calc III). I can't imagine looking at electromagnetism from a calculus perspective without vector calculus... If I were you I'd go for it, as I wish I had the ability to look at the Maxwell equations and appreciate their elegance fully (something only possible with solid calculus based physics II education). Calc III is really not too bad (I think it's way easier than Calc II), I had a bit of trouble with L'Grange Multipliers, but I was a relatively lousy student as a freshman (interest and being required to take introductory course swith IB credit saved me).

You got a B+ in calc 2 with real life distractions? Take MVC. It's really a fun class and may make physics 2 easier.
Though you really wanna take a fun class you need to take DE

Though you really wanna take a fun class you need to take DE, complex analysis, number theory, abstract algebra, & topology
FTFY

The difficulty of calc 3 will vary by school, calc 1 and 2 were a breeze at my school, calc 3 was a special kind of hell. Take it if you like math, I took for the sake of taking it and I don't regret it

No, I wouldn't recommend. What's one B+ compared to how many credits of A's you have? I do recall you having a high GPA, so I wouldn't take Calc 2, Waste of time. Unless you enjoy it

I took it and thought it tied together concepts from I and II really well. Hasn't been that useful in med school obviously but I remember that "aha" feeling as things came together which was kinda cool. I was never really into math though and just took it bc it was required for my degree. Not sure what I would have done if I'd had the choice to not take it. Prob would have not and taken finance or econ instead just to have exposure to that stuff. I agree w/prev poster, also thought it was easier than I and II.

I'd assume that divergence theorem can be used to model fluid leaving a blood vessel into interstitial tissue. Of course I'm just cherry-picking. I can't imagine too many scenarios where multivariable would pop up, but it does have a way of threading itself in and out of nature pretty well.

Ya you're right that's actually used one of the sepsis eqns on MDCalc 😉 The only things I remember from calc in general now are that derivatives and integrals are things, and the disdain I felt for my prof for making us write so much after I learned the power rule was a thing.
