Hi all,

Fairly new to these boards so sorry if I'm repeating something that's been beaten to death on here (In that case, please point me towards the original post/s). Halfway through pre-reqs and wanted to get a vague idea of what my GPA is for applying to MD and DO programs.

I heard somewhere that DO programs will replace the new science grade if you are redoing classes where you originally did not do well? This would seem easier to calculate for that reason... but how is your GPA calculated for MD programs then, if they don't replace the original grade? Is there a calculator online where I can plug in all my info?

Thanks in advance.

For MD schools -- say you took a four credit class once and got a C (2.0). You retake and get an A (4.0). This would the equivalent of taking an eight credit class and getting a B (3.0). So basically, you average the grade and include all credit hours.
