I realize USMLE stopped releasing the percentiles for the boards in the 90s, but does anyone know a way to calculate them using the scores and the mean/SD? Thanks,

If you took the exam this year....

(X) = your score

(X - 217)/23 = your Z-score

Take your Z-score and go to the following, look at the bottom, find your Z-score, and that will be your percentile.

http://homepages.wmich.edu/~sievers/wstat366/wnormal/normalpage2.htm

For example, Jane Doc got a 242. Her Z-score is 1.086, which corresponds to about the 86th percentile (86%).

Hope this helps!
