So for the practice questions that use log and many decimals, I should be able to do that in my head? Or are those questions mainly for me to be familiarized with the topics?

You should be at least familiar and comfortable with doing them in your head or on your scratch sheet. For my DAT, the science portion mainly just required placing the correct values into the formula whereas there was also some basic mathematical skills tested with decimals. The DAT is unique to everyone so no one can for sure give you the answer. Better to be safe than sorry.
