I have been having trouble finding an intern position, however, I see a lot of tech positions open.
My question is am I allowed to get a tech license and work as a tech while holding an intern license?

I would drop out of pharmacy school now as chains are cutting intern hours and positions so the number of new grads each year with 0 real pharmacy experience is going to balloon over the next couple of years.

This means that you have almost zero chance of landing a job upon graduation if you didn’t match for residency, and as a matter of fact I wouldn’t be surprised if community residencies will become required to work in a retail setting in the future as the pharmacy arms race/hunger games continues.

The signs are all there. Now is the time to pull the trigger and cut your losses before it’s too late.

I can confirm the previous company I worked for (which is a large national chain) is not hiring any new interns in some of their districts this year. Actually they just let go a bunch of interns a few months ago. This is unprecedented. Are looking to work in retail or hospital?

If you have a tech license as well, sure.
You can apply for tech positions and hope that the pic or company changes their mind and hires an intern, which is wishful thinking.

Back when there was a shortage, we would hire interns to audition for future jobs. Takes a lot of time and money to teach interns, unless you hire them most of the time you don’t get your money’s worth
