Hey everyone,

Does anyone know if any of the Cali schools have a post bacc master's program with a guranteed interview at a Cali med school if you meet certain criteria..and I mean any Cali schools, not just the UC ones?

I've checked AAMC but nothing comes up for California Master's Post Bacc Programs, so I was wondering if anyone had ideas! Thanks

heyyy
yea i have never heard of any. there are many california students in our cass (bu mams)---because there weren't any pre-med masters programs in cali. and i don't there are many (if not any) that guarentee you an interview. I have heard of drexel--but you would have to mainatin at leat a 3.5 and get at least a 30 on the mcat--and with that kind of stat--why would you not get an interview anyway.

There's a reason why California is such a challenging place to be a pre-med, in addition to the higher stats required just to be even looked at. 😉

There are NO post-baccs schools anywhere in the world which allows you to interview at any of the allopathic med schools in California (both UC and non-UC). The CLOSEST thing I can think of would be that "joint" program at UCR. However you have to be an undergrad at UCR, and maintain some criteria to graduate from UCLA (Geffen) school of medicine. But this is NOT a post-bacc program.

We do not have any masters programs which guarantee interview at any CA school either..in fact we don't have any official special masters program. So yea, to get into any CA school requires good grades, spectacular/unique extracurriculars, and a great deal of LUCK.

Now if you want to find a school that guarantees admission to a school outside of CA, then you can look into Scripps, and Mills College. Scripps is for career changers so is NOT for reapplicants, or anyone who was pre-med prior to applying to this program. I'm not sure what Mills is about, but it sounds like its open to all who can afford it, and have the GPA to get in. I think Mills has a linkage to Tulane, while Scripps is linked to George Washington or something. Good luck!
