ok, i have a random trivia question. i'm md/phd, and in our program, the clinical rotations of 3rd/4th year are abbreviated to approx 14 months. we don't have to do a lot of the required courses that the med students do, namely geriatrics and family medicine. i heard somewhere that the only state that requires these clerkships to apply for residency programs is california. thing is, is that internal medicine only? would seem silly to have to do these for path. no? it would suck if i had to cram them in april/may, as i haven't scheduled them.

any thoughts?

I have a friend who is MD/PhD in another state who is planning to apply to pathology residencies in CA and is planning to do a month of FM because of this "requirement." I'd never heard of it before that. I can ask around and see if anyone here knows something about this.

thanks for the reply. i spoke with a grad from my school and he did a month of FM too. i guess i can do it if i match in CA, but i had way more fun plans for the last months of school...oh well.
