California Residency Competitiveness

I know California residencies are competitive in general, but I'd like to know thoughts on the likelihood of being able to return to CA for a path residency for someone with an average Step 1 score (~230)?

Path is rather uncompetitive at the moment. depends on how you do on step 2, and other variables like USMD vs DO vs IMG vs FMG. Show interest do a couple aways rotations at california programs your interested in.

I'm at a US MD school, and I definitely plan on doing path as an away elective in CA.
