Smokes HALO 3. Absolutely smokes it.

Its as good as, if not better than, Half-Life 2 when that game first came out.

If you have a decent PC and you love blowen bad dudes away, get this game now. Cannot comment on XBOX-360 version but I bet it looks bad ass on a big HD TV.

It's awesome...been playing it on XBOX 360 on 52" HDTV. Way better than Halo 3. Now if I could only beat Lou on Guitar Hero III. Only so much time in the day.

I've got it on XBOX 360 on a 65" Mitsubishi HDTV w/ surround. Holy freakin' ****. That about describes it.
I'm a huge Ghost Recon fan for multi-player, but I've got to say, this one is as good. The single player is sweet, albeit really short, but still this one is a definite must-buy. HALO 3 doesn't even compare, IMO, but then again, realistic military FPS games always seem more impressive than sci-fi alien blasters (again, IMO)

Good thing I'm a MSIV, It's a wonder I get anything else done.
 
Anybody check out Assassin's Creed yet? I think it looks bad ass, I love any game where I get to live out my dream of being a pimp ninja assassin!

christ. between COD 4, Assassins creed, and Rock band I'm never gonna get any reading done. That should make August pretty real.
 
Just finished Bioshock on the 360. Loved sending a swarm of bees on those big dadies while I took 'em out with the crossbow and heat seakers. Hate to see it go. I suppose I better start playing halo 3 since I bought it. Metroid Prime Corruption is super sweet even though it's not HD 1080. Pretty much the only good game on the wii imho.👍

I don't think most gamers have a computer with enough balls to run this game with any sort of decent frame rate.

I have a athlon 64 san diego 4000, 1.5 G of ram, and a BFG GeForce 7800. Game runs ok but only at low settings. Grainy. Not pretty.

My system eats up Call of Duty 4 at all high settings. It barely runs Crysis.

I cannot justify dropping 800 bones on a new mobo, cpu/s, ram, and vid card/s to play one friggen game.

That level was amazing. I've seen the videos on youtube of the helo's doing it for real, and there wasn't much difference.

Don't know how it compares to PC, but it's very well done. Does not have the usual framerate/texture issues of other 3rd party games

Uncharted is the best PS3 game though, cinematic experience w/incredibly fun gameplay

Its a good story based game, i've got a c2duo with 1.5 gigs of ram and a 7950GT, runs smooth on med settings. I'll wait a few years till i upgrade and then see the "photorealistic gfx" that it promises.

COD4 btw is sweet, "uhhh which one's the curved road ...over...?"

Anyone play COD4 on xbox 360 yet? I dont wanna blow the money if it isnt Da Bomb.
 
Damn you Vent. I was trying to put off the purchase of COD4, but I just bought it on Amazon (for 48 bucks). Although I will never admit it to be better than Halo 3, I borrowed a friend's copy and loved it. Now that I have 1000/1000 gamerscore on Halo 3, my heart can (temporarily and in small amounts) move on to COD4.

Somehow I got crysis to work at medium settings with a halfway decent frame rate. Jesus, its fun as hell man. COD4 still owns it though.

I beat silent assassin and the ending was not good AT ALL.

otherwise, game rocked.
 
COD4 is the best shooter I've played in a long time. The engine completely smokes Halo 3 and it seems smoother than COD Airborne. In addition, the split-screen multiplayer is even better than what playing Golden Eye was like back in the day. The maps are small and easy to learn, you can turn off the silly radar option, and if you keep getting "kills in a row" you can even call in airstrikes.

Edit - played on Xbox 360...and now I want a bigger TV.
 
On call at the Shore....just finished an appy and now I'm popping in Street Fighter EX3 on the playstation 2. Awsome 3D streetfighter that I totally forgot I had until yesterday.

If you liked Hitman you may like games such as Stranglehold (fun as hell on a big tv), Max Payne 2 (the original slo-mo shoot-em-up), or Kayne and Lynch (haven't played that one though).
 
The special edition of Stranglehold has the DVD copy of "Hard Boiled", one of the best gun-fu movies ever. I've only played the demo, but it looks amazingly fun.



My criterion collection version of the movie is starting to show it's age, so the special edition game is going on my holiday wish list.

As for resident hours, what an asinine notion. If someone can't keep track of their own duty hours then they probably can't keep track of when they need their diapers changed either. As of yet nobody has approached me.

As for hearts, I'll go out and start replacing peoples plavix and aspirin with sugar tabs. That should boost our numbers numbnuts....

Also COD4 is the BOMB. Replayed the sniper mission.

The poster wasn't very civil and this probably isn't the forum for him/her to air above complaints but maybe they have legitimate issues that should be addressed by the chief resident? Is it being a "d-bag" to feel that your chief isn't doing what you expect of him? I dunno, maybe VentD is in a program where bringing up complaints is frowned upon?

Vent, do you play online multiplayer? I've been using my downtime in between interviews to increase my ranking. Best online multiplayer I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

Is COD4 multiplayer setup like BF:2 in that ranks lead to unlocked weapons and ability to command other players?

Its kind of like that, you can unlock weapons the more you kill etc, but the problem is that the multiplayer matches end up being a big frag fest with no fronts, so you end up getting shot in the back 3-5 seconds after spawning, which = no fun. There needs to be better defined fronts, so thats why i play headquarters more than team deathmatch.

And PS, if i were a PD, i'd ask people what video games they play. If they don't play, their either lying, or lying.
 
I'm not really feeling the physics of the multiplayer mode. That's the problem I've always had with COD4, and why I prefer the BF series.

Regardless, let's get up a multiplayer match over the PC network.

Just started playing COD4 on my new PS3.. Holy schnikes... this is a freakin' cool game. Got up to the AC-130 gunship mission, this thing is too much!!

I was always a Nintendo guy over the years, and I didn't play much. I figured since I got the 50" plasma, I may as well take it for a spin. Man was it worth it!
 
Anyone gotten to Lvl 55 on multiplayer and made the prestige jump?? I'm taking the plunge tonight!

I'm on either level 51 or 53 (can't remember, it's been a few days since I've been on). What is the prestige thing?
 
When you finish leveling up THROUGH level 55, you can choose to go Prestige mode or not. If you don't, you stay a 55, with all weapons, etc. If you DO, you get a sweet new medal and background, but lose all of your weapons and go back to a level 1. You can go through Prestige 10 times and get crazy ass new medals with each.
 
X-Box Live has been wacky for the past several days for COD4.

I'm currently playing Half Life 2 Episode 2....its friggen awsome (at least on the PC). I mean, it friggen rocks. Anyone who has a 360 or a PC needs to buy the Half Life Orange Box if they have never played Half Life 2 before. Its that good.

The game Portal alone is worth the price of admission, and its the "weakest" game on there.
