PSNetwork lost it's edge when they started charging for online play. I'd go for Xbox tbh...unless you're into VR, which is coming out soon for the PS4 (for another $400).

Do you own an Xbox?

I feel like VR is the future of gaming. 3-4 years down the line, everyone will be gaming in VR. Xbox doesn't support this? That's a big negative.

Maybe the Xbox Scorpio coming out next year will support VR?

Im on that PS4 hype train
On a side note, my brother owns the Xbox1 and hasn't come out of his room since yesterday.

I mostly chose PS4 because I have multiple friends who have a PS4, so that was a no brainer for me. In terms of what online play is better, Xbox one or PS4, I have no clue.

My deal happened the Tuesday before Black Friday and GameStop was doing a Black Friday week type thingy. I had a PS3 and some games that I turned in and got a credit of $200. The PS4 black ops 3 bundle was knocked down to $429 and it came with Destiny: The Taken King for free, which was $60 at the time. I forget how much the 1TB originally cost before the Black Friday. I basically only play Destiny, so that was a great deal for me. Lol! Destiny is awesome and I love it!

Also, sometimes GameStop does promotion where if you turn in a previous generation console, they'll give you 50% more for the trade in. So watch for those as well.

Man you look comfy. You got the controller out, you're in your blanket. I'm very jealous. All you need is a box of Pizza, a headset for communication, and you're good to go!

$200 for a PS3 and games trade-in?! NICE! You got a really good deal. My experience with GameStop hasn't been that good. I got a $4 offer for 12 PS2 games once. I laughed and walked out of the store.

Never heard of Destiny before. Sounds like an awesome game. I'll keep an eye out for it.

But yeah, as @californiway21 mentioned, pick the platform that your friends play.

I had a crap-load of things to trade in as well. I also sold my iPad 3 on eBay to help pay for it.

To be honest, I'm in fourth year undergrad and I haven't played video games (with the exception of this weekend) since grade 11 high school lol.
I'm not very up to date with games/ consoles. My dad is a sony fan, and has friends that are on PS4. Therefore he bought a ps4 😛

All I ever played in high school was call of duty (seriously, not joking) so I have really limited exposure/taste to other game types lol

Call of Duty sucks now, IMO. Try out Destiny. They just came out with some new content called 'Rise of Iron' and it's incredible. It from the developers of Halo.

Can't go wrong with CoD and Battlefront.

If you wanna take a break from FPS-style games, I recommend Devil May Cry. Best hack-n-slash RPG out there.

Mostly computer games (league of legends) or I just watch anime (neeeerrrrrd), since I can quickly switch back and forth from my online notes.

I'm pretty sure VR is the future of everything. It's still an abstract concept that people don't get, but I'm willing to bet that in 10 years you won't be able to distinguish actual life from VR. I suspect it will be widely used in all faucets of our lives.

You bet, man. I was going to say that but didn't want to come off as wacky. But with Zuckerberg, Google, and Amazon investing in it, the world and the way we experience reality is going to dramatically shift. Our children may not draw a line between physical and virtual.

I've been wanting to get into battlefield. Which one should I get and is it fun? What should I expect. I'm tired of Call of Duty! I also want another game to play besides destiny.
 
Just saw a commercial for Red Dead Redemption 2 coming out in Fall 2017. Holy poo I loved the first one. Gonna have to fit time in my schedule during dental school! Lol!!'

It's the best video game I've ever played [Battlefield 1]. It's going to make passing physics this semester pretty difficult hahaha.
