I still haven't gotten an interview although I only turned in my application on Oct 15th (this is TMDSAS, BTW) so I wanted to call the medical schools and inquire and hopefully push my application to the top of the pile but how does one go about doing this? What does one ask? Does it even work? Does it make you look worse? Help!

I really want to be a doctor but I got sidelined because my Asian family refused to consider that I had ADHD so I went 3 years of college without medication completely getting destroyed in my classes no matter how much effort I put in.

:scared: <- me trying to study

You've only had your application in for a month during one of the busiest times of the year. I'd give it some time.

If it worked, wouldn't everyone do it? Just be patient. It's a virtue you will need in the years to come...

Wait a second. Isn't it a bit odd that you referred to your own family as "an asian family" insinuating that there is something inherently wrong with your culture and family social network, but for some reason, you are do not fall in the category. this post reaks of troll.

please close.

(damn, i look like an idiot for posting already once)

i really look like an idiot for the grammatical error in the second post...

rather than posting this why dont you edit your previous post? And i think what he means by Asian family is that there is no concept of ADHD in Asia so when a kid says he has some mental disorder that causes him to do worse at school, the parents just chalk it up to be him being lazy

I really doubt calling works...the few times I've called somewhere, the people I talked to were nice but I never got an interview out of it.

I am not a troll but thank you all for your advice/comments.
