So
I have had several interviews recently, and the physician I work for asked me to give him the name and contact information for the dean of each school I interviewed at. He already wrote me an incredible letter of recommendation, but he said that he remembers being an applicant and feels that calling the dean on my behalf will be beneficial to me. At first I was super excited
Mostly because it is just a really nice thing for someone to do, and it also makes me realize how much he appreciates me. But as it sank in a little bit, I realized that it may make me look like a brat or something
Like I am being too pushy. Though I didnt put him up to it in any way so I hope that is not the case.
Do you guys think this is as big of a deal as I am making it out to be? Will this hurt me or help me? I mean, either way I am not going to tell him not to do it because that would be kind of rude. But should I be freaking out right now? Not sure The dean is from the school that is my top choice right now, I just dont want to look back at the end of the cycle after a rejection and think of what could have happened if he had not called Also, he is not in any way associated with this school
Has this ever happened to anyone and did it turn out ok in the end? If so, did it help?
