I was just notified that I got into the Caltech program at UCLA...damn, i already told columbia i'd go...

After you're done thanking the MD/PhD gods, sit down, write an email, and withdraw from Columbia (you do want to go to Caltech, right?).

It's not May 15. Nothing they can do but thank you for your interest and refund your deposit. Happens all the time.
