Hey everyone,

I'm at the end of my interview trail and I've decided that for me, my decision is going to come down to Cambridge and Brown. I think they're both similar in that there's great training, happy non-stressed residents, and good quality of life. As far as I know, both are highly respected.

Some relative strengths of Cambridge are dedicated didactic day, strong community psychiatry, patient diversity with specialty clinics. Relative strengths of Brown are child and adolescent and CL.

My specific interests are adolescent/young adult psychiatry and severe and persistent mental illness/first break psychosis and also possibly forensics.

I guess my question is: does anybody have any opinions as to why to choose one versus the other?

I'd really appreciate any insight or opinions.

Both great programs. From my perspective (as a CL doc), Brown edges out Cambridge on the basis of a being able to do CL in a fully functional tertiary care hospital with transplant services, etc. vs the community hospital setting offered by Cambridge.

Also, if you're interested in adolescent psychiatry, it seems that the opportunity to train at Bradley Hospital would also give Brown the edge...
