Hello all, I'm not a DPT student but would like some information for a friend currently applying to DPT. He wanted to know some opinions on his situation.

He has received 2 acceptances, 1 from Campbell University and 1 from Touro-Bay Shore. However, there are obviously pros and cons to both schools.

Campbell University
Pros:
- Established academic university in North Carolina with a new medical school, dental school coming soon, and a very successful Pharm School (highest board passage rate in nation), Law School (highest board passage rate in NC), and PA program (98% board pass rate). Also belongs to NCAA D1 sports. DPT School will have access to all undergrad amenities.
- DPT facility is brand new and technologically advanced; also has human cadaver lab.
- DPT faculty have extensive PT academic, clinical, and research backgrounds.
- Clinical sites include many of NC's premier health systems, prominent one being WakeMed. Also, NC is a dominant college sports mecca (UNC, Duke, NC State, Wake Forest) allowing opportunities for those interested in sports PT.
- Close proximity to the Research Triangle provides opportunities for those interested in Kinesiology and Biomechanics research.
-NC cost of living is really cheap ($600 for 2 bedroom)

Cons:
- DPT program is brand new and thus only provisionally accredited! This is the major worry.
- Tuition+Fees = expensive! $33,500/year!

Touro-Bay Shore
Pros:
-Closer to home.
-CAPTE accreditation
-DPT program has been established for a while now.
-Cadaver lab
-Tuition+Fees = not that expensive: $24,800/year

Cons:
-Many many many negative reviews by SDN students. Majority saying to keep it as a "safety school only" choice due to old facility, high drop out rate, poor licensing first time pass rate, and uncaring/unenthusiastic professors...
-Stand alone college; not part of an academic university.
-NY Cost of living is expensive ($1300 for 2 bedroom).

if you guys had the choice, which one would you choose?? I told him to go to Touro since its closer to home, but I don't know anything about DPT schools...soo any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
