I disagree. Visiting a school demonstrates that you are serious about attending if you apply later. With so many applicants for so few spots, small things can give an advantage in getting to the interview process. Interviewing will also be a much better process as well because you will have had time to think about the program and come up with real questions. The whole acceptance process has to do with any and every interaction you have with a school. If you visit a school and get a tour, a student or faculty may remember you later and it could sway the decision process.
