Can a dentist respond to a Code Blue?

I was speaking with a nurse I am good friends with and she says she has responded to a code blue with a dentist a few times. I have never heard of that, so is she correct? Can a dentist respond to a Code Blue and perform as well as a Physician in that situation?

If they are ACLS certified I think its fine. They were probably either an OMFS or a hospital dentist, since most in private practice aren't ACLS-certified.

As for the question as to whether or not the dentist can perform just as well as or better than a physician...I think that depends on the dentist, and the physician
