Does anyone know if a physician assistant can prescribe/recommend a person physical therapy like a doctor can? Just wondering.

Depends how you look at it. PA's often write scripts/refer pts to Physical Therapy. A PA is NOT qualified to "prescribe" physical therapy as in practice physical therapy if that is what you mean. However, PA's and other healthcare professionals that commonly refer people to PT seem to believe they are qualified to tell a PT what to do. And they get away with it.

a PA can prescribe a patient to PT under the supervision of a board certified physician.

yes, I write PT referals all the time. doing so does not require any specific md/do supervision above and beyond nl state requirements.
I am well aware that PT's know their scope and modalities far better than I do so I generally mark the dx and check the box that says" evaluate and treat".
