Can all schools see that you are a re-applicant?

Hey everyone, I was wondering about the application process. I got a 23 8/6/9 on my previous MCAT and I'm planning on taking it again later this summer (august or late July). My sGPA is 3.68 Overall Gpa 3.79.

My question is: If I were to apply to a few lower tier or newer DO schools, and then get a better mcat score and decide to reapply with that better score next year, would the schools that I apply to next year (2017) see that I'm a re-applicant? Is it a dumb idea to apply to lower tier just to see if I'll get in?

I'm just a little older than the average applicant, and I'm trying to get into Med school so I can get the whole process started (we all know it's a long one). I'm just concerned that if I apply this year with a bad MCAT score, even if it's to lower tier schools that I wouldn't apply to if my MCAT was higher, it would somehow adversely affect my application the following year with a better mcat score.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

WHY???? would you even think about applying this year with a 23??? 😱
Retake the MCAT and apply next year if you have a high enough score.
