Can an OD apply to an Opthalmology Residency?

For all those who love to find hard facts...

Does anyone know of any opthalmology residencies that OD students are allowed to apply to???

OD's can not apply to any ophthalmology residencies. That is a medical surgical specialty. There are one year residencies OD's can apply to, here is the link: http://www.optometryresident.org/index.htm

of course ODs can apply to ophtho residencies...do it like the rest of us did...go to medical school first.

What is your problem? Again, this was a question the poster did not know the answer to. This is a forum for people to ask questions without feeling self-conscious for not knowing the answer. Some people truly do not know how all the professional schools works, or even the differences among them. It is your and my duty to help educate them in the ways of the medical professions. I do not understand your attitude. You have nothing positive to contribute in this forum, please leave.
