Salutations, I'm a bit concerned about a few things.

1. I am planning on taking the MCAT in January, (after I finish Physics) will this late date count me out for the 09 year (depending on if I get accepted?)

2. Also if all goes well I will graduate by then. However, I may need to finish up 1 or 2 classes during the summer to graduate. How does this affect the application?

2. When should I put in my applications? (I havent tacken the MCAT, I still need physics, all other pre-reqs are done.)

I'm also applying to some Caribbean schools, and perhaps Ireland. Thanks for any/all help. 😀

If you have a good GPA and get a 30+ MCAT, you should be good for DO schools but I am afraid for MD schools because usually their deadlines are around novenmber and december.

Thanks! Can I apply before the MCAT? I know earlier is better. Do they offer "conditional" acceptances, such as some Caribbean schools?

never heard of a school with a conditional acceptance. since most have extensive waitlists, i doubt any school would hold a spot for someone without a complete application

Just apply now and mark down when you're taking the MCAT. Check out the schools' websites and the CIB for more info on latest MCAT accepted. Caveat: The CIB has some wrong info, including latest MCAT. Look at info from particular schools to be sure. You can email the ones you're really interested in, too.

You'll have to finish up your degree before matriculation, in most/all cases. Don't screw this up, or you'll be sitting around for a year.

Don't compare DO schools to Caribb med schools ... not even the same ballpark.

OP, I think you're at a HUGE disadvantage. A lot of schools DO NOT accept the January MCAT, especially for the first score. Check individual websites to see the latest score accepted but don't expect to find a lot of good news.

PM me,

I took the Jan MCAT and got in. It can be done. My stats were 3.65 26 mcat. You need a solid plan, a state school which favors instate hopefully and some luck.

It is not easy though, and no guarantees.

As for Carib schools, they will take the jan mcat, but if you want to apply to SGU, definitely apply before the mcat and they will interiew you before and wait for your score to come and make a decission
