Can anyone recommend a good melanocytic lesion textbook?

Yes, I have seen the McKee atlas, which is very nice but not a lot of in depth discussion (obviously, since it is an atlas). I did also consider the Barnhill melanocytic book as well. Thanks for the replies.

Just checked out two texts briefly
:
Pathology of Melanocytic Nevi and Malignant Melanoma 2nd edition
Barnhill, Piepkorn, Busam
Good chapters which include clinical features and histopath. Pix are in color, and there are good tables.

Histological diagnosis of nevi and melanoma
Massi and Leboit
Good chapters w/ more concise clinical features, and more emphasis on histopath. More pix, which are larger but are black and white. Pretty illustrations and bullet points in margin.

Overall, Barnhill's is in color and more depth, and Leboit's is black and white and more histopath based. Depends what you're looking for...and who you want to learn from. I'm biased towards Leboit 😉

Yes, I have heard that the LeBoit book is fantastic, and I plan to buy it (if I can find a used copy for sale...out of print!). On the advice of one of the MD Anderson faculty, I decided to go with the Pathology of Melanocytic Disorders by Mooi & Krausz. This particular pathologist told me that LeBoit would be the number 1 choice, but that the Mooi book would be number 2. I will just get them both I think!

Thanks again for the advice!
