I'm doing a PGY1 Gen Surg prelim and will be reapplying next year to something.
If I were to apply for an advanced position that would require program specific PGY1 requirements (i.e. ICU or EM) could night float count towards that or does it have to be written into the RRC plan for my program?
I've read lots of comments about it being combined in some places with ICU or EM but nothing that says it specifically fulfills requirement X of residency.

ACGME Definition said:Night Float: Rotation or educational experience designed to either eliminate in-house call or to assist other residents during the night. Residents assigned to night float are assigned on-site duty during evening/night shifts and are responsible for admitting or cross-covering patients until morning and do not have daytime assignments. Rotation must have an educational focus.
