Hi. Sorry if this is a dumb questions but when choosing which track you want are you supposed to choose only one out of the three (PC, cat, prelim)? If we can choose more than one then is that considered applying to the program more than once?

Thanks. So can I apply to two tracks at the same time? Will PDs be ok with that or will they want somebody who knows what they want? I don't care for either one but I want to maximize my chances of getting an interview.

Generally, at least in the programs I've seen, they encourage people to apply to any of the tracks they're interested in.

Applying for Primary Care and Categorical in the same program is perfectly fine.

Applying for Prelim and either of the others is a mixed bag. I think it's OK. It says "I want a cetgorical position, but if I don't qualify for that then consider me for a prelim instead." Others might say it shows a sense of weakness -- that you don't think you're "good enough" for a categorical position. I think that's ridiculous, but I'm just one person / program
