at southwestern. and am i automatically on the waitlist if i didnt get in, or can they reject too?

in like 2 weeks u are gonna start getting rejection letters or waitlist letters from the schools higher than ur choice. I think the most shifting starts around May so its kinda a long wait. Plus, even more shifting occurs around june/july but unfortunately u might have to commit to UTMB boy june 1st.

according to the AAMC, 158 admitted Texas residents enrolled out of state (wow thats a tiny number!), and 118 texas residents enrolled at Baylor.

That means there are at MAX 176 spots. You can substract a few for people that are admitted to out of state schools but not at all to a TX schools.

So you can estimate 160 or so spots open up overall. (of course i'm ignoring out of staters here, so the numbers probably vary by 10% or so)

Of course one spot opening up at one UT causes a domino effect at the others.
