Hi, I'm looking to apply to pharm schools this upcoming cycle and was wondering if i have a chance of getting in or getting offered an interview.

Currently a junior and will be graduating next year from UConn with a BS in Allied Health Sciences
Have taken most pre-reqs except biochem
current GPA: 3.5
Have extra curriculars (clubs, organizations)
Have worked at a local market for the past 4 years and other jobs before that as well
had a internship at a orthodontist office in high school
Will be going on a service trip to Gautemala this summer
Have research experience in my major
Have not taken the PCAT yet

I'm interested in apply to accelerated programs, is this a possibility? Also, should get experience in a pharmacy setting? I have tried but not been able to. Also when should I take the PCATs and whats a good score? I'm worried I won't be competitive enough to to get interviews. HELP!

Your gpa is pretty good. Hopefully your oharmCAS gpa would be similar to this. Having a BS is a plus of course. Try to perform good on your pcat. Do you have strong lors?

From my personal experience, I believe you will get interviews from different schools if you apply wisely. I have had a lower gpa than yours and a BS. I have got into all of the 6 schools I applied to and decided to attend an accelerated program. I did not take the pcat (not required for my schools in case you have a Bachelors degree). I had 3 very strong LORs; one from a pharmacist. I have also had an internship but in a hospital set in which I was exposed to the pharmacy dept. I have also had an excellent personal statement.

So, I believe you will get in somewhere. With your stats and e/c.

Please let me know if you have any question. Best of luck!
