Hola everyone!
I am a female minority psychology student who will be applying to 5 MFT prgrams this month:
Antioch University Seattle
Antioch University New England
St. Mary's in San Antonio, Texas
Loma Linda University in California
Nove Southeastern University in Florida
The problem is that my GPA is only a 3.0, the minimum for most schools. My schools don't require the GRE, so I can't use that to boost up my chances. I was a chemistry minor (which I had to drop because I was failing) and an environmental science minor (mostly C's and B's). However, I did really well in my psychology classes and made A's and a couple of B's. I'm also only 20. I graduated from college at 19 because I went to a special high school where I took only college classes, and they all transferred. Will my age turn a lot of schools off? I do have more than the 100 hours of experience most schools ask for (about 450 in education, and 50 in a hospital setting). Do you think that the schools will take into account my grades in my psychology classes, and the fact that I had to do in 2 years what most people do in 4? What are my chances of getting into any of these schools?
