Hi, I'm kinda new to this forum so I apologize if I post this in the wrong section.

I am currently attending community college at ELAC with goals of transferring hopefully to UCLA or Berkeley as an Anthropology major. I've had a tough time during high school senior year as I was always skipping class because I had personal problems which I do not feel comfortable talking about. My stupid decisions basically got my admission to UCSD revoked.

So right now I am at ELAC and I swore that I would never again do what I did in high school. I know I've made my mistake and I'm okay with that because I've learned from It. However I heard that medical schools won't see the community college lower division courses with the same light as 4 year university courses, so if I ever apply to med school once I transfer my chances of getting accepted will be lower.

What should I do? Should I retake the lower division Courses at a uni once I transfer? Since uni classes are more difficult, therefore more credible. Am I even allowed to do that?

Attend the UC DAVIS PRE-HEALTH CONFERENCE in August. Best place to begin to understand the process. You will be able to listen and talk to admission panels and current medical students. A lot of the panel members attended community colleges and then transfer to a CSU and still got accepted to multiple medical schools.
I'm a non-trad and attending a CA CC right now. After some research I finally accepted that as long as I get As in my classes and stay involved with the community in something I enjoy I will be good! Finally I need to rock the MCAT with 33+!
Good luck!

YES!!! But keep in mind that not all MD schools accept pre-reqs from CCs. Invest in MSAR Online to find out who does/doesn't. There' s no rhyme nor reason to their choices.

Definitely ask.

I was told by one school that they would not accept AP or any junior college or community college. I asked the dean directly... Guess who was a community college graduate. 😉. She confirmed they definitely took them.

You don't know for sure unless you ask around.
