Can I get some advice for how to improve my app?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think your GPAs should be fine. Focus on the MCAT as that will be very important as well. In every interview I have been asked "Why osteopathic medicine?". Make sure you can answer that question through the experiences you have had in a non-generic way. I spent a decent amount of time shadowing DO's which really helped me answer that question completely and with personal experience. Assuming you do well on the MCAT I think you should be a competitive applicant, but that is just my opinion.

Thank you for the advice. From what you have seen, does OMM have a little overlap with what a physical therapist can do ?
Even if it does, don't mention the similarities or differences anywhere in your app or interviews. Definitely get a letter from a DO. Other than that I think you look fine. Are your EC ongoing?

There is overlap in that both use a hands-on approach to treat the patient. I think your experiences with physical therapy and how they have pushed you to osteopathic medicine could be a very valuable experience but you need to understand the value of OMM as a technique to treat and diagnose. The physical therapy I have received in my life was certainly different than the OMM that I have observed in many ways. I would highly recommend finding a DO who uses OMM to shadow. This was hard for me because not all DOs use it, but after asking around and being a little intrusive I was able to observe OMM. This would be a great conversation to have with a physician who uses OMM with their patients.

1) Get that DO LOR and hours
2) Ace the MCAT (+504)
3) User3......."Interview competently"
