Hello
I have had a long history with the osteopathic thread and I am back to get some perspective. So I started undergrad aiming to go into osteopathic medicine. However, because of unforseen circumstances family circumstances. I finished my degree in Bio and went to earn a MSc in Occupational therapy. OT is a great, great hours, treating people with varying diagonses, autonomy. However, I feel that I can do a little more than OT.
So would I be a competivtive applicant. I took plenty of science classes when was in undergrads as well as graduate school. 3.2 GPA undergrad and 3.7 graduate GPA. I am currently working on autism research but it deals more with developmental psych than neuroscience. I'm considering DO/phd programs. What would I need to do other than the MCAT to make my application stronger and appealing to DO schools? Does it mAke sense to go back? Thanks for reading and feedback.

DO schools like graduate experience, the Ugrad gpa is a bit low, but overall not bad. I think the average applicant for DO is 3.5/27, so you would probably need a 30 on the mcat to be fully competitive for DO. However for DO/PhD, I would say that unless you want to be a medical scientist it probably isn't the best idea.

And if you're not content with OT and desire something more, then go for it. You just need to play around with the numbers and see whether you want to spend the time.
