I need to make some decisions by next week about what I will b doing this semester. However, I won't receive a decisions from a school until the week of the 20th. But I interviewed at the school earlier and im sure they have made a decisions on my acceptance/rejection by now. Do you think it would be possible to call up the school, tell them my situation and ask if a decision has been made, and if it has, what it is? Or will that just not happen ever and I will be laughed at? Thank you.

I can't speak for all schools. I did call up one school and ask if a decision had been made. I was in a situation where I was leaving the country and if a letter arrived, I would not be able to respond in time to claim my space if it was an acceptance. I called the school and explained the situation and they gave me the decision over the phone. However, when I finally did receive a letter, I noticed that they mailed the decision out the day after I called. I'm not sure if it is coincidence or not. If you are positive the school has made a decision and if you have some compelling reason for knowing ahead of time, I think you might be able to pull it off.

i can't be 100% sure they have made a decision, but they are suppossed to be mailing out letters next week.
