Due to scheduling conflicts with my med school graduation and the date for BLS/ACLS training, I might have to take the training course AFTER my start date.......Is it still possible to start on time and work? Or will I have limitations? Thanks

You can take BCS/ACLS at a lot of different places, not just your medical school or your future residency program. So, why not do it next week, or something? Otherwise, I'm pretty sure that it has to be done before starting residency.

My residency program wont let you start if you dont have ACLS training. You can do it in another place but you would have to pay for it.

See if your residency program will arrange for you to take ACLS (for free) there 1-2 weeks before you start.

Hey all
My residency program requires ACLS prior to starting. I don't have it, and I'm having a hard time finding courses... anyone know of any website that lists courses available across the nation? In particular, I'm looking for something in New England or Colorado...
Thanks so much!

First, check with your program. Mine does classes during the intern orientation.

If not, try American Medical Response (assuming they exist in your area). All the hospitals in my state also offer ACLS and BLS, but you often have to call their Education department directly for listings. Also, check the American Heart Association website, I believe they may have a directory, since it's their courses.

my residency is offering it the week before residency starts.

I had the same problem.
What I did was called America Heart Association and they gave me a list of the hospitals in my area (including the phone #s) which hold classes.
And then called the hospitals to find out the cheapest one.
