I know this is a tricky question and no one can give me a definite answer, but I was looking on some advice about this.
I've been accepted into Columbia University's MPH program due to start the first week of September (in about 3 weeks). I am sincerely interested in public health which is why I applied but my end goal is medical school. I come from Johns Hopkins undergrad and my gpa is about 3.35 so obviously I need to boost my med school gpa.
I was intending on taking an extra science class or two every semester along with MPH in order to do this but I'm having second thoughts and wondering if spending 2 years of tuition on MPH and then not getting into med school anyways will be worth it.
With only 3 weeks to go I've got myself in quite the bind. I'm thinking of asking Columbia if I could switch to their post-bac pre-med program which I could complete in a year (less cost than MPH) and would be 100% focused on improving my gpa. I'm a little terrified and embarrassed to ask so I thought I'd ask here if any one thinks they'd let me into the post-bac program at this point?
Thanks!
