can I take extra class during gap year

I just graduated from master program. All pre-req done, no need to take any class for medical school admission. I want to take one or two courses in my local community college to improve my programing skills (python and java).
I did not indicate any planned course in my primary. Can I still take the class if it's not indicated on primary application? Should I let schools know?
