Ok so in Braf Mutation. Valine changes to Glutamic acid

a) replacing of valine in place of glutamate

b) replacing glutamate in place of valine


the wording is confusing me for some reason. which is it

Wow! This actually got me too. I was thinking it was A obviously.
However, its B.
re'PLACING' glutamate in the 'PLACE' of valine.
 
Glutamate changes to Valine.

Glutamate is water soluble and valine is fat soluble. The lighter glutamate is propped up and the RBC keeps its standard shape. With valine, its heavier, the RBC can not support it, and it dips towards the center. This is what causes the "sickle shape" in sickle-cell anemia.
