Hey everyone out there, this is my second post and i have something on my mind. right now my semester is going C average and not feeling that confident that i will be accepted to dent school. here are basically my qualifications as of now. i am a sophmore in college and im hispanic my gpa is a 2.9 (because i failed calculus in the summer which im going to retake it and get a grade forgiveness) i'm just wondering how everyone feels if im on the right path. can i just get some honest replies thanks

Grades are not the only determining factor in acceptance, and it seems that you are very involved and motivated to be a dentist. My recommendation is that you commit to only one or two pre-dental organizations. Don't spread yourself too thin! For dental experience, focus on shadowing. Also, I think community service has become very important. Many academically qualified applicants are rejected because they are not involved in their community. After all, dentistry IS serving your community. Since your grades may be a weakness, make a strong effort to excel on the DAT. Just remember that dental schools accept students with GPAs below 3.0 all the time. You just need to work harder in the other areas that matter. You can do it!
