Well, you can apply to any school you want, but some others whose averages are around there are and that do accept a fair number of out-of-state students are:

Virginia Commonwealth, Eastern Virginia, and U of Toledo.

thanks! I only applied to 15 schools this year and 8 were in Cali 😱
No wonder... but I've done tons of volunteering this year, and I am going to do Americ Corps next year if I dont get in, so I think my chances will be better!

How about Tulane, Loyola, Jefferson and Georgetown?

Those are good too, although Georgetown is picky about at least a 3.5 overall, 3.4 science GPA.

Most of the SUNYs are pretty friendly to OOSers.

As fas as I know, NYMC has a class of ~1/2 Californians.

Besides NYMC, the other school I had good luck with were UVM, SLU, and EVMS.

My future brother-in-law was a SLIGHTLY above average californian and went to Penn State.

Miami requires min. 3.6 GPA and 30 MCAT for OOS, but most likely your need a 3.8 GPA and 32 MCAT to get an interview.
