Can USMLE compensate for COMLEX mess?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I would think it would help..you can explain what happened on your application, and if prometic gave you a letter confirming your situation, programs can see your knowledge base wasn't represented by that exam. that being said they can't objectively give you the benefit of doubt that you would have done much better as other students have done better on one or the other in the past. Depends what programs u want to look at if it's worth it. You may just want to take step2 early so you have scores when u do your audition rotations. I have no basis for that thinking that besides a former DO admissions director for John Hopkins IM who said to think of usmle as second chance for your comlex.. but i have no clue ask some PDs what they think if u know any or just email them.
