I just received a secondary from TUCOM and I noticed theyrequire a personal statement. I have already written about my experiences, personal charactertistics and interest in osteopathy in my AACOMAS personal statement. Do you think they look down upon people that just print out the same essay????

oh man....what to do, what to do...

lil help please.

Tailor it to the school to which you are applying.

They already read your personal statement once.

You send it to them again, it's wasting both your time and their time with the secondary.

That is what I did for most of my other secondaries, but for TUCOM, they have two separate questions. One is a personal statement and the other is your motivation for selecting TUCOM. I feel like if I do tailor it to the school, I am being more redundant being that I had already addressed my motivation in the previous question..

The personal statements aren't all that long. I'm sure you have a lot more to say about yourself than you can put in one page. If you wish, you might touch or expand upon something you have already mentioned in the personal statement. However, to reprint the same stuff in any part of the secondary is a bad, bad idea in my opinion. Just look at this as another opportunity to tell the adcom something more about yourself.
