Can you add schools after AMCAS is submitted?

Is it possible, after submitting the AMCAS application, to add more schools later? Thanks

Yes, it is possible, but I hear that it is somewhat of a pain.

Yep. Alot of people do this if they submit their amcas before receiving mcat scores. I added a bunch of schools throughout the summer and I didn't think it was a pain. You just indicate which ones, and hit submit to pay for them.

Yes, I even added schools as late as October, and everything was fine. It shouldn't be a pain.

That is pretty much the only thing you can change besides your contact information once you've hit the submit button.

Easy to do. The pain comes with the $30 (this is what it was last year) charge for each additional school. Since someone will ask, you do not need to pay an additional $150 (or whatever it is) initial fee each time you add a schoo, just the $30 for each school. Good luck to everyone!

Not only possible, but it doesnt even seem to hurt your chances either. I added NYU months after I had subitted AMCAS and I still got an interview. Now, I didnt get in (waitlisted) but thats my fault for being a bad interviewer.
Just make sure you add still pretty early in the game tho......dont wait too long.

To designate additional schools once you have submitted your application to AMCAS, you must re-enter your AMCAS application (by re-enter, do we mean start again from scratch), select the additional schools you wish to designate, and re-certify and re-submit your application to AMCAS. You must re-certify and re-submit your application with the additionally designated schools by the stated deadlines of the schools you wish to add. Deadlines may differ for different Program types.
