Hi. I was just wondering if as a 4th year pharmacy student, you could still apply for job postings and not have to wait until you are licensed since the processing of applying to a job and getting through HR can take a while. I am considering this for hospital jobs and have seen that it takes several weeks for them to just process through the paperwork and then finally interview applicants before they make a decision. Either it can keep me on file for them for future reference. Wondering if anyone has done this before, and what thoughts out there are? Because the time frame for jobs after graduation, then licensure would lead to several months afterwards in waiting...

When I was job hunting as a 4th year pharmacy student, it seems as though the only places where I personally was able to apply and hear a response were either retail or long term care. This may vary based on location, though.

Keeping them on file doesn't mean much. They will just hire the first person for the spot.

If you are applying to an area of high demand , you can get offers early .. If you have license it is much much easier , yeah waiting 3 months blows but applying w license will at least double your amount of interviews.
