Can you put the community service/volunteering you did in high school on the DAT application?

I will take the DAT next year and was wondering if they accept the community service/volunteering done in high school. I did about 100 hours of community service while in high school. Would they accept that or does it have to be volunteering done recently?

It's not recommended to put things like that from high school. The only exception would be if you have been consistently doing it since high school throughout most of college. Otherwise, high schools EC's make your application look desperate imo.

I don't think the DAT application has anything for that. If you are talking about AADSAS, then you should put volunteer stuff there. High school should not be put on there though. Only college.

I met with the Dean of Admissions at the dental school I'm hoping to get accepted to next cycle about 2 weeks ago and she said they were looking for a trend in volunteering. She also said as long as the trend continues from high school throughout college then it was fine to include. Essentially, they don't want to see all your volunteering in the last 6 months so it looks like you're only doing it to get into dental school is what I gathered. This could be an oddity throughout the dental school world though so take it with a grain of salt.
