Hello Everyone!

I'm a Canadian undergrad student looking to apply to dental schools in the US for the following cycle and I'm not sure whether I have a chance at some of the schools I've looked into. My stats are the following:

BCP GPA: 3.6
Science GPA: 3.8
Overall GPA: 3.98
DAT (RC/AA/TS/PAT): 22/20/19/17
ECs: I've got a couple leadership/mentoring experiences, TA position, volunteering in hospitals, shadowing experience (>200 hours), volunteer abroad experience, 2 research projects but no publications

I've looked into applying to:

1) Boston U
2) Harvard (long-shot I guess)
3) Temple University
4) Case Western Reserve
5) UPenn
6) University of Pittsburgh
7) Buffalo University
8) NYU
9) Indiana University

Also, I was told to apply early but I'm not sure what the difference between first batch and second batch is in terms of the application cycle. Do I have to get everything submitted by a certain deadline to be in the first batch and have my application read at the earliest possible time? Any help is greatly appreciated!

First batch is sent out usually late June so if you have your application submitted and GPA verified by then, you will be in the first batch. Batches are sent out 1 week after following the first.
In terms of your GPA, it's a little weird to have a 3.98 overall but a 3.6 BCP, I assume this is because you didn't take a lot of BCP classes or upper level bio classes and you probably have a non-science major. It might look a little weak but if you have all the pre-reqs done you should be okay, the other thing is your 17 PAT might hold you back a little bit from trying to bite at Harvard and UPenn. Your 20 AA isn't stellar in the standards of international applicants, so you should try to add more schools around your range.

You stats are good and so is your school selection, you should add Nova and UDM for safety because BU doesnt acceptance that many Canadian anymore. In our class there are only 10

I've taken the pre-req requirements and one upper-year bio course. I am a Science major but I haven't taken upper bio, chem or physics although I have taken other science courses like anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, etc. I'm not sure how the semester hours works for the GPA calculation but I assumed it was 3 semester hours for every 0.5 credit and 1 semester hour if it had a lab component but would there be any additional hours added if there was a tutorial?

Maybe add U of MN they take a decent amount of Canadian students.
