Hey ...

I'm a Canadain Applicant and I wanted to apply to some American Dental Schools...is there any suggestions on where I should apply. As well.. does anyone have any pointers for the application essay? (My GPA isn't that great)

thanks so much!

My advice is to apply to private schools since they do not limit the number of non-resident per class.

You can find out the private schools here: http://www.univsource.com/dent.htm

As for the essay, you can write about why you are interested in dentistry and what skills and knowledge you have gained to prepare you for dentistry? Also you can also give reasons why you think you are a good candidate to become a dental professional.

I second that - apply to the private dental schools, like BU, Case, NYU ect.
Are you planning to get in for 2005? In that case, I suggest you hurry up sending in your application, LORs, transcripts, DAT scores and fees. As far as your application, highlight any volunteer experience and research experience. Have you ever shadowed a dentist or had a part time job in a dental practice? That would be great to add to your application. Hope this helps.
